CHICAGO – May 14, 2026 – Kin, the direct-to-consumer provider of insurance and home finance solutions for homeowners, today named Douglas Everson chief product officer (CPO). In his new role, Everson leads Kin's Product Management and Design teams and owns the product roadmap across home insurance, auto insurance, home financing, and emerging homeownership services.

"The decisions we make around product strategy and execution compound over time," said Kin CEO Sean Harper. "Douglas has a strong track record of making thoughtful, high-conviction calls about where to invest, how to simplify complexity, and how to build products that scale. He’s exactly the kind of leader we want for this next phase of growth."

Everson joined Kin in 2023. Since then, the company grew from three states to 14 and deepened its product portfolio to include auto insurance and home financing. His team led the launch of Kin Financing, marking Kin’s expansion beyond insurance into broader homeownership solutions.

“Homeownership touches every part of a person’s financial life," Everson said. "Our goal is to give homeowners everything they need in one place — protection, financing, and the tools to manage it all with confidence. We're still early in that journey."

As CPO, Everson will be responsible for Kin's homeownership product vision and roadmap across insurance, financing, and future homeownership services, with responsibility for customer experience, growth, retention, and underwriting outcomes.

Prior to Kin, Everson held product leadership roles at Amazon and Goldman Sachs’ Marcus business. At Amazon, he led checkout conversion for Amazon Pay across the U.S., Europe, and Japan, and drove machine learning-powered recommendations for Amazon's private brands. At Marcus, he helped scale consumer deposits from $20B to $80B over three years. He began his career at Capital One, where he led efforts to reimagine how customers access their credit, enabling them to go from application to first purchase in minutes instead of days and updating card details automatically at their favorite merchants after a reissue.

Everson holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Chicago, where he graduated with General Honors and was named to the Dean’s List.
