Kin Insurance and Florida State Athletics Announce Historic Four-Year Jersey Patch Partnership

Partnership adds Kin's logo to uniforms across nearly every Seminole sport in Kin’s largest market

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — September 4, 2026 — Florida State University (FSU) Athletics and Kin, the direct-to-consumer provider of insurance and home finance solutions for homeowners, today announced a new, multi-year partnership that places the Kin logo on the jerseys of FSU student-athletes. Kin is the first brand to appear as a jersey patch across the athletic program’s uniforms and is the preferred insurance partner of Florida State University Athletics. The patch debuts September 7, when FSU football plays SMU, then rolls out across 17 additional Florida State Athletics teams.

Rooted in a shared commitment to Florida’s people, communities, and future, the partnership brings together a university that develops the talent and leadership that move the state forward and an insurance company that helps Floridians protect the homes where that future takes shape.

Today, Floridians trust Kin to protect nearly $100 billion worth of their most valuable assets — their homes and cars. The company focuses on helping homeowners in markets with high probability of catastrophic losses, supporting them as they navigate severe weather, rising costs, and the changing insurance market. Kin currently offers insurance in 14 states.

Florida homeowners have trusted Kin since the company started offering home insurance in the state in 2017 — and then through some of the hardest years the market has seen. Florida remains Kin’s largest market.

“Kin’s Florida roots and commitment to serving people across the state make this a natural partnership for Florida State,” said Michael Alford, vice president and director of athletics at Florida State University. “Our organizations share a belief in meeting challenges with strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve. Kin’s investment will help us continue creating meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes, while supporting the competitive excellence and proud tradition of Florida State Athletics.”

The Kin jersey patch will appear for the next four years, beginning with the 2026-27 season, across the following 18 varsity programs: football; women’s basketball; men’s and women’s cross country; women’s soccer; women’s volleyball; men’s and women’s swimming and diving; men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field; baseball; beach volleyball; women’s lacrosse; softball; men’s and women’s golf; and men’s and women’s tennis.

The partnership reflects a shared belief in preparing people for what comes next. Florida State supports student-athletes as they pursue excellence in competition, in the classroom, and beyond. Kin helps homeowners prepare for storms and protect the homes they have worked to build.

That connection also extends to Florida State’s top-ranked Dr. William T. Hold/The Alliance’s Program in Risk Management and Insurance, which prepares students to become future leaders in the insurance industry.

“Florida State University develops talented people who go on to lead across Florida, including some of the future leaders of the insurance industry,” said Sean Harper, co-founder and CEO of Kin. “We’re proud to support that and to build a company where those talented graduates can do important work. Kin started in Florida because homeowners here face a real problem: insurance is becoming more expensive and harder to find, and we can offer something better. We continue to grow and invest here even when the market gets tough. That combination of ambition and resilience is what we admire about Florida State. We’re proud to support FSU and continue investing in Florida.”

Beyond the jersey patch, Kin’s investment in FSU Athletics provides resources that benefit student-athletes and communities across Florida, connecting Kin with FSU fans and alumni while supporting the proud tradition of the Garnet and Gold competitive success.

The partnership was facilitated by Legends Global in collaboration with Florida State Athletics.
