To help in your search to find the best home insurance, we reviewed a bunch of Florida and Louisiana insurers, including Centauri Insurance. We took a look at online reviews from real customers and average pricing. Here’s what we found.
Centauri Insurance is a homeowners insurance carrier that offers both residential and commercial insurance. The company says it aims to “provide financial protection and peace of mind for our stakeholders.” The company’s Demotech rating was recently under review after terminating its acquisition by Avatar Insurance.
Centauri doesn’t have a lot of online reviews – only 44 are available on Clearsurance with a 2.3-star average rating. Positive reviews cite a good claims experience, getting a check within a week of a home estimate. Another review states their home was hit by lightning and the claims process was good. Negative reviews are critical of denied claims. The company does not appear to respond to reviews, good or bad.
By contrast, we have more than 1,500 online customer reviews between Google and Trustpilot, with an average rating of 4.8. We ask customers to leave reviews so potential customers can learn from their experience (and we can, too!). This is how we learn and grow as a company: based on the feedback of the folks we insure.
Bottom line: Customer reviews show potential customers what they can expect when they work with an insurance company.
Florida and Louisiana are already known for their expensive premiums, which is why prices matter for homeowners here. For a newly built $300,000 home, Centauri’s average yearly premium is $2,724. That’s almost double Kin’s average at $1,354 a year.

Claims are where an insurance company shows their mettle – do they pay claims fairly and quickly? We can’t tell much about Centauri’s claims process from the reviews.
For our end, we know that nothing is more frustrating than feeling left in the dark after filing a claim. That’s why we prioritize communication, transparency, and technology in our approach to processing claims.
We keep policyholders informed throughout their claim – our executives have even been known just to reach out and check in on folks! We also make it easy for customers to get their repairs done professionally through our Managed Repair Network. This connects policyholders with a network of service professionals who are local, licensed, and insured.
