What We Do

 

How does Kin Financing protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law.  These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings, as well as industry standard physical, electronic and procedural security safeguards to protect from loss, misuse or unauthorized alterations.  We support encryption whenever we prompt you to transmit sensitive information.

How does Kin Financing collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you:

·          Apply for a loan or give us your income information

·          Give us your contact information or provide your mortgage information

·          Share with us your driver's license

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates or other companies.

Why can't I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

·          Sharing for affiliates' everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness

·          Affiliates from using your information to market to you

·          Sharing for non-affiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.  For information on state laws, see the Other Important Information section below.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?

Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.

Definitions

 

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and non-financial companies.

·         Some of our affiliates include companies with "Kin" in the name, such as Kin Insurance, Inc., Kin Risk Management, LLC, Kin Risk Management Nexus, LLC, Kin Risk National Management, LLC, Kin Insurance Network Distributor, LLC, along with Bright Policy, LLC, The Family Agency, Inc. and Elite Insurance, Group, Inc.

Non-Affiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and non-financial companies.

·        Nonaffiliates we share with can include mortgage companies, insurance companies, insurance agencies, direct marketing companies, affiliate marketing companies, home warranty companies.

Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products and services to you.

·         Our joint marketing partners include insurance, financial services, financing-related and mortgage companies.

 

Other Important Information

CA:  Accounts with a California mailing address are automatically treated as if they have limited the sharing with nonaffiliates as described on page 1 unless you have agreed to allow us to share your information separately. 

ND: Accounts with a North Dakota mailing address are automatically treated as if they have limited the sharing as described on page 1, and we will not share your information for joint marketing, unless you have agreed to allow us to share your information separately.

NV:  We are providing you this notice pursuant to Nevada law.  If you prefer not to receive marketing calls from us, you may be placed on our Internal Do Not Call List by calling 1-800-945-9470, or by writing to us at 222 W Merchandise Mart Plaza, Suite 910, Chicago, IL 60654.
